Welcome to Smooth Essentials
I needed to shift something in my life because it seemed to be all work and no play, I felt like I had no time for FUN and to actually enjoy life without going a hundred miles an hour. I wanted to make a difference not just in my life but to others around me.
Life isn’t about having regrets, like most of us we have sure made mistakes (some more than others) but I strongly believe you have to make them to get to where you are today and hopefully you’ll learn from them in the process. I know now I went through those tough times that showed me how strong I was to fight for what I truly want in life and that is a freedom lifestyle.
I want to take you back to where my journey of yachting began, in June 2013 I took 6 months long service leave from working at my full time job with the Police Association & I also worked 2 part time jobs in the hospitality industry to head over to Portugal and work with family at their holiday rental business. After my services were no longer needed I then headed to the UK to stay with a few close friends (couch surfing mind you) which allowed me to travel and see more of what the world had to offer. On our travels we visited an island off Spain, Palma De Majorca and little did i know walking into no ordinary bar one night was going to absolutely change my life.
I returned home 6 months later resigned from the police & booked my courses i needed to gain to enter the Superyacht world, once i looked into working in this industry i knew i had to pursue my career as a stewardess and make it happen, the gut instinct in me knew this was my calling. I found myself not even questioning Why am I doing this, I found myself saying – YES I am doing this..
The lifestyle of the rich and famous was one hell of a rollercoaster, there were moments when I wanted to give up as I no longer felt safe and secure but I knew I had to keep pushing on and there was a light at the end of the tunnel, there had to be some good come out of so many bad experiences. From more bullying & bitterness it took me back to all the negative things i went through in my teen years all over again, to unsafe work places just like I went through in high school, getting fired because of a jealous boss to unforeseen circumstances that are too heart wrenching to relive.
After nearly two years living, working and travelling all over the globe I knew it was time to come home where I had a loving family, friends who were excited to see me and my dog Tinkerbell patiently waiting for me to come through the front door. Amongst so many things one that struck a cord is missing the birth of my youngest niece and missing my other two nieces grow up. It made me realise I wanted to start a family of my own one day and being on the other side of the world was something I began to question is this the lifeI want. Living and working abroad was an incredible experience and one I will cherish for a lifetime but I now know why things were happening for me that i didn’t even realise at the time.
To be honest I didn’t know if I was going to enjoy being home or find myself wanting to go back to the yachting world overseas, only time was going to tell. I had applied for jobs before I arrived home but was unsuccessful for multiple, money was drying up, I felt deflated, I felt like a failure but I couldn’t understand why, my teachers all told me this is what will land you a great job in Sydney, so what was I doing wrong! But little did I know what the universe had in stall for me.
For 2 months It was like I was glued to my couch, and I know for some that doesn’t seem like a long time but for someone who has worked pretty much their whole teen and adult life, 2 months felt like a year. I barely saw my friends & my parents and we live in the same house, I was miserable, I felt like all that hard work I went through to end up back where I was 2 years later.
Then one day I received a phone call that changed my life, my mindset, my will to do anything, all shifted after a friend I met through yachting rang me to see how I was doing after posting her update on facebook of what she was now aligned with, I was intrigued.
Looking back now I realise that taking a chance on something so far out of your comfort zone YES is scary as hell, but it has the ability to pay off in the long run if you really want it. I strongly believe everything happens for a reason, by stepping outside of my comfort zone and travelling the first time overseas to Europe in 2010 led me to a job offer to work and live in Portugal in 2013. Then to be based out of the UK where I travelled to Palma that let me to my passion i found in yachting which then led me to my purpose of positively impacting lives globally by an online turnkey in the Anti Ageing Skincare & Wellness Space.
Not even a year into the business in 2018 I was asked to share my story at one of our Live broadcasted events and one main reason I began this journey is explained in this first video below. One of my biggest fears is public speaking, but i figure it was just one more fear to cross off the list, if it wasn’t for this incredible opportunity of personal growth I have no idea where I would be today.
A year later I was asked to share my insight for the Millennial generation on how and where to begin with an ecommerce global business, some tips to help them get started and why this day and age it is NO longer a luxury to have a second income stream – it’s a necessity.
This now brings me to where I am today, 3 years into an opportunity where I found myself realizing my self worth, feeling safe, supported, loved and actually being cheered for by some incredible like minded people who just want the best for you.
I am doing this for my future me – I’m Going to make you so proud is what I repeat to myself everyday, and already looking back on this – I feel like a million bucks to be able to have the courage to not only face my fear of public speaking – Twice but be able to accomplish so many incredible obstacles along the way.
I know now this is the vehicle that is going to provide me with an incredible life for me and my future family, to give back to my parents and provide the tools necessary to share this opportunity with so many people who may or may not have gone through moments like I have but can resonate with it in some way.
With our core mission being – MAKE PEOPLE BETTER I can strongly say that I am continually on the road to becoming a better, more positive, caring & loving person since being aligned with this company.
